Amanda McKnight

Amanda McKnight serves as the Chief People and Administration Officer of the National Wildlife Federation, working with the CEO and senior leadership to manage and execute the National Wildlife Federation’s strategic objectives. She leads key initiatives and projects, particularly operational implementation and organizational change related to the strategic plan, and oversees Human Resources, Organizational Learning, and Equity and Justice teams. She serves as Assistant Secretary for the Board of Directors, and is a staff liaison to the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee of the Board. McKnight joined the staff of the National Wildlife Federation in 2007, and served as Chief of Staff for five years prior to moving into her current role.

McKnight has over 20 years of experience in management and operations. Prior to joining the National Wildlife Federation, McKnight was the program director for before- and after-school programs at 11 elementary schools in Tucson, Arizona, and spent six years as an Interpretive Park Ranger at Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina.

McKnight grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, where she developed a deep love and appreciation for the outdoors. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in biology, with an emphasis in ecology and environmental biology. She lives in Virginia with her husband and son.
